The following Colgate University students are recipients of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the fall 2013 term at Colgate University. To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve a minumum 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.

Students have been named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for the 2013 fall semester.

To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

More than 1,600 students have been named to the Fall 2013 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.

Wilkes University Interim Provost Terese Wignot announced the Dean's List for the Fall 2013 Semester. To be named to the Dean's List, students must obtain a minimum 3.4 grade point average and carry at least 12 credits.

The University of Scranton has announced it's Dean's List, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2013 fall semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List. The list includes students from the Jesuit university's College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, the Panuska College of Professional Studies and the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. More than 1,380 students were named to the 2013 fall semester Dean's List, including the following area residents.

Widener University, one of the nation's premier universities for civic engagement and applied leadership, in partnership with WCAU-TV NBC10, today announced the winners of the Widener University High School Leadership Awards. In its third year, the program recognized 134 students from high schools in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware who demonstrate courage and leadership within their communities. Students were selected for their abilities to stand up for what is right, address a wrong and make a difference in their communities or schools. Among the winners selected, the Widener University High School Leadership Awards recognized students who: aEUR? Coordinated fundraising efforts to benefit a horse farm that provides a day program to adults with developmental disabilities aEUR? Founded a group that promotes safe teen driving and raises awareness about the dangers of distracted driving aEUR? Traveled to Haiti to live with local families and help construct schools for small Haitian towns aEUR? Raised and trained guide dogs to serve the blind "The turnout of nominations this year was remarkable and the level of civic engagement among the winners is truly inspiring," said Widener University President James T. Harris III. "Our mission at Widener is deeply rooted in service, leadership and community, making this program extremely special to the university. The winners are the next generation of leaders in our area and I look forward to personally meeting all of them at the awards ceremony." Winners are invited to a celebratory breakfast at the National Constitution Center on March 20, as well as a leadership conference at Widener University in fall 2014. Most notably, winners will receive a scholarship of $20,000 over four years should they enroll at Widener University for undergraduate studies. Winners include:

The Peer Mentor Program begins during orientation and continues throughout the first semester. This program eases the transition of new students to LVC. The primary goals of the program are for new students to succeed socially and academically, to ensure that each new student has an upper-class student from whom they can seek assistance, and to help students become well acquainted with other new students.

Lebanon Valley College named 658 undergraduates to its Dean's List. The students maintained a 3.4 average out of a possible 4.0.

Wilkes University freshmen students completed an oral history project as part of a first-year foundations course called "Be the Change." A first-year foundations course is a course required by all Wilkes freshmen. "Be the Change" focused on a service learning project that gathered the oral histories of northeast Pennsylvania veterans. During the semester, students met one-on-one with the veterans whose service ranged from World War II to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Wilkes University would like to welcome the 617 incoming freshmen students that comprise its Class of 2017. It is the 80th freshmen class in University history and the third time that the University has a first-year class of more than 600 students.

Each summer at Colgate University, about 150 students conduct serious research in fellowships that allow them to work closely with faculty for eight to ten weeks on projects of common interest, and across disciplines.

Lebanon Valley College welcomed 482 new freshmen and transfer students to its beautiful Annville campus in August 2013, bringing total undergraduate enrollment to an all-time high of 1,648 students.

Lebanon Valley College has recognized 185 of its first-semester freshmen and transfer students for making an impact on the campus as a new student. The Celebration of Student Success reception, held Feb. 21 in the Lehr Dining Room of the Mund College Center, honored the students' achievement. The honorees were nominated by faculty and administrators for standing out in the classroom, in their work with classmates, as student leaders, in on-campus employment, or in extracurricular activities such as athletics, performance, or volunteerism.
